training
Warm-down...
Treacle showing some iffy Yoga posture, but a great effort after countless laps in the nasty weather...
Pushing...
Andy in his own little world of hurt and pain; pushing for the line on another 400 metre lap...
Not great...
How do you look after a load of 400 metre sprints with just seconds to recover in between? Like this...
Opening up a gap...
Top of the first bend and Andy's already streets ahead of Treacle as you might expect...
Matty Little...
Looking a little bit rouge after his first 400. Only a shed load more to go on a day for ducks in south west London
Miles bounce
Andy's coach Miles Maclagan gets his head around the thought of running up and down the track until he feels pretty bad...
Getting ready...
Andy goes quiet as everyone mentally prepares themselves for an unpleasant training session...
Sprint
Miles Maclagan flying the flag for 30 something guys everywhere - hanging on (sort of) to his player in the early stages of the session. The gap had grown a bit by the end mind you...
Finish line...
Andy checks the split time on his watch as he crosses the line with about 3 sets to go. You can't see but he's also got a heart-rate monitor around his chest so he can make sure he's at our around the max level that's been set for the session.
About 6 sprints in...
Andy catches his breath: just seconds to rest before he attempts to bash out another 14 sets of 100 metre sprints. Brutal.
Treacle
You can't push your athlete if you're not going through the same pain as them. That's the Treacle philosophy, and he gets the job done....
Hard work leaves its mark...
After 20 x 100 metre sprints with just seconds rest between each, a sweaty Murray outline can be seen on the track where he lay down for a rest at the end!
Hello girls...
Miami beach, three tennis guys, and a distinct lack of female attention. Poor effort.
