isn't it weird,i have been aware of the Newport tournament for don't know how many years and always assume it was Newport beach (must have been swayed by the swordfish i had there once)

There are probably 50 or so towns called Newport in the world! There are at least three in England & Wales, so it's very confusing!

But I think (though I could be wrong) that the place where they hold the Newport tournament is where they originally used to hold the US Open, many years ago.
