Miami training block

14 December, 2009 | 04:12

The guys headed to Boca Raton on Sunday with Andy set to take part in Andy Roddick's charity exhibition.

A fair number of the players have fundraisers at this time of year, and A-Rod's is one of the bigger events. So big in fact that Elton John is set to play there at some stage.

As far as the tennis goes, the emphasis is on making it fun to watch for the crowd. If Andy's anything to go by, they won't have played much for a while so they're happy to play some flashy points for the paying public...

They started today with Gimelstob/Levine vs. Andy and A-Rod...

They didn't play long, only four games. Gimel and Levine actually won.

The big match was Roddick vs. Andy, over four games again. A-Rod came out on top, but it was just a bit of fun really.

Great event though, well run, well attended and no doubt they get plenty of money for Roddick's foundation.

Given they were in Boca and this is a training block they took off to the USTA centre after some food and drink. Early in the block a massage is pretty normal before a heavy weights session...

Some lunges today....

And some squats....

A pretty heavy session basically - a couple of hours all in.

They drove back to Miami for about 7pm and they have a day off tomorrow. The big talk right now is who gets who in the team secret Santa.
