Where is Andy?:

Tues: Wimby day 2!

24 June, 2008 | 00:06

Day started with a good news story: one of Andy's fans (James) and his Mum, Mary where in the queue for ground passes to Wimby.

Only thing was they had a good luck card for Andy that they were worried they wouldn't be able to deliver.

Judy gets wind of it, and gives them her two spare tickets for Andy's match.

Not a bad result: James's mum told me she'd wanted to watch a match on centre her whole life. Well now she has...

No physical training for Andy today - just some hitting down on the courts at Aorangi to stay tuned into things. As you can imagine, quite a circus down there, but he gets on with it regardless....

Meanwhile, the Good Luck card waited patiently on Matty Little's kit bag. It got to Andy after he had a shower: read through all the messages with a smile on his face....

Fabrice Santoro was in demand as you might expect, courteously agreeing to all manner of requests, including the BBC who positioned him just next to Andy's practice court....

Gary Richardson in control of the mic....

Aorangi has its own built in player arrival alarm in the foem of several hundred fans.

As soon as anyone turns up in the top 20, a big shout goes up as they all start asking for very bits and pieces to be signed...

Poor old Fed has a rought time of it, but he - as they all do - signs away until the masses are happy...

So the match came and went, followed by some amusing press conference banter about chin-ups. And some touching words from both players on each other..

Then, up on the roof of the broadcast centre to do an interview with one of the TV crews.

Just happened to be where they're doing the live 6-love-6 phone-in for Radio Five Live....

Jonny Mac in control....

Andy jut had time to say 'hi' to Tim before the show went off air...

...followed by a chinwag with Jonny Mac himself, who was intrigued by the added beef that Andy's put on by doing chin-ups with a 20KG weight jacket on...

Quite strange being that close to the guy actually. Legend.

More tomorrow....
