Hitting at Queen's

06 June, 2008 | 13:06

The guys hit at Queen's Club today for the first time. The tournament site is still a work in progress (it's a club in its own right for most of the year), but players were out on the courts as of today.

Stunning venue. The grass there is just amazing.

Andy hit with Jonas Bjorkman today...

And just to prove it, here he is...

Miles keeping an eye on things, as per usual...

You're probably pretty familiar with how it works now: some drills, then the guys usually play some points with their respective coaches watching and offering pointers....

Bit more bounce on the courts today, but you still see a lot of the guys stretching out their knees after the long slog on the clay.

For a lot of them, today was their first hit on the grass....

The guys hit from midday till 2pm, then it was off the the player lounge to get some food in...

Food for Andy today was a (big) plate of pasta, some fruit and a yogurt.

Messy eater, but to give him credit he always puts his tray away....

With a bit of time to kill, the guys took advantage of the 'fat machine.' It tells you - unsurprisingly - how fat you are, or more specifically, how much of your body is made up of fat.

The general gist is that it passes a current through your body, and the degree to which you conduct that current (factoring in your height and age) determines your body fat %.

Miles bravely stepped up to the plate first. Looks pretty worried huh?

Luckily for him, he came out with a none too shabby 11.4%...

We won't bore you with a list of who else got what, suffice to say Andy had the lowest rating of anyone.

Lunch done, the guys got a lift back to the NTC for an evening hit on the grass.

Plan for tomorrow is to hit at Queen's in the morning, then head back to the NTC again in the afternoon.

Stay tuned.
